Over the past 18 months Pick Ups Online has utilised the TNT Network for servicing its ROAD EXPRESS freight. Compared to previous freight companies that have provided their service TNT has proved to be a far superior service.

Transit times have been very reliable with some destinations a day or more ahead of other carriers. Tracking is very reliable and accurate and outstanding queries are infrequent. Since using TNT there have been NO losses and very few damages.

Our alliance with TNT has been beneficial for our business and our customer’s service to their customers.
Unfortunately TNT has found it necessary to impose a surcharge on Residential Contacts. That means if a pick up or delivery occurs at a residential address the surcharge applies. Pick Ups Online has no option but to pass this surcharge on to its customers. The surcharge will be $6.50 + gst. There will be a tick box on the Road Express booking form for indicating a Residential contact. Manual charging of this surcharge where the booking has not indicated a Residential contact will be $12.00 + gst.

 

No doubt other carriers will follow TNT's lead on this as did happen with the Fuel Surcharge nearly 10 years ago.

To avoid a Residential surcharge for your deliveries please use a business address where possible. This will also minimise the chance of being charged a Redelivery Fee as well.

 

 

 

During the course of 2010 the Pick Ups Online web site will be undergoing some improvements. Please see below for details.

 

1. Receiver database

 

The receiver section of the booking forms now have an option to save receiver details. This will save time on future bookings if you send to the same customer.

 

2. Additional Rate tables

 

Rates and zoning structure will be expanded to give more flexibility for rates. This will particularly assist us in allocating fairer rates to volume users.

 

3. Dedicated Booking Form for Specialised Services

 

Currently to book Specialised Services (ie Tailgate) it is done via the Road Express booking form. A new booking form will be added so that Road Express items over 30Kg or sensitive freight requirements can be booked via the new form. This will give us more flexibility in charging and improve automation in this area.
